For the next couple weeks, I’m going to be blogging about LINENS…So many things to share! If you are a platinum member make sure you log in before reading the future blogs because there will be hidden pricing information and links to the wholesale companies and links to the actual products on those wholesale websites. As I’m getting ready myself to wash what seems about a bazillion linens, This is the first thing I want to share.. its kinda like a miracle spot remover and I’m so thankful I found this!
My mom had called me one day and told me about this for my 2 years clothes that always needs some extra spot removing and I thought.. I wonder if this will work on the guest table linens..
I was scared because it has hydrogen peroxide and I was scared to death it would put a big bleach spot on my sand colored linens. You know when you are invested a lot of money in linens, you don’t want them to be ruined!
But low and behold.. it was awesome! And now I use it every load of table linens I do!
Here’s what I do.
I mix 1 cup of the hydrogen peroxide, then half cup of the blue dawn dish washing liquid (for some reason the other colors of dawn doesn’t work, only the blue), then half cup of the baking soda. (2 parts, 1 part and 1 part). I pour it into a mason jar first, then shake it then I pour into a plastic ketchup bottle like pictured.
I mix it fresh for each load.. the leftover that I used one load didn’t see to instantly work like a fresh batch does. You can actually see it right before your eyes working to get up the food stains.
I normally like going to the laundry mat cause I can use the giant washing machines and do all 10-15 of the 120″ round linens at once.. so normally what I do, is lay them out on the floor, look for the spot, put a little bit on, then use a soft bristle brush or my fingernails to agitate the spot then throw in the washer.. after I do all of them then I start the machine.. so the solution is actually not on there a super long time… Then I wash!
So far it has been absolutely the best solution I have found for spot cleaning. Once I used a vegetable brush and that was not a good idea, cause it actually caused a few snags.. so make sure you use a soft brush..
Next blog I’m going to show you how you never have to iron another linen or chair cover again!!!
Happy New Year!!!!
