Aqua and Lime Green Wedding
This was a wedding we did a while back in a little community Gazebo.. This was a Ceremony and Reception in the same location. So we had it all set up for a ceremony and behind the backdrop was the tables and linens.. and these vases that was used as aisle decor was used as centerpieces
Since Aqua was one of her main colors. I knew I wanted to use the latex green orchids I had but I knew I did NOT want to use aqua petals.. I dont think those look realistic and they kinda look cheesy. So instead of petals that would blow around everywhere anyways we used aqua satin fabric poofed around the vases creating the sides of the aisle
The orchids I actually had wired them on to some bendy branches that you can get from Hobby Lobby, so it wasnt just your typical orchid in a vase look.. this gave it a more interesting look and the bendy branches looked totally real
Something that I was so glad we made was my chair wraps. I cant begin to tell you how many times we used these. If the brides budget couldn’t get spandex chair covers or other fancy chairs or even if the location provided ugly folding chairs. These things came to the rescue a lot! They are very easy to make but If I was you I would buy a commercial satin one and then take it apart as a pattern and then use the lightweight fabric that you use the same as the drapes.. these and my spandex linens were my absolute favorite chair covers.
The bridal bouquet I used all lime green hydrangeas and even though I’m not a big fan of painting fresh flowers aqua.. thats what we did.. and then we added the latex orchids instead of fresh to save another dime.
The simple green hydrangeas looked great against the aqua bridesmaids dressess – I think we only used 2 stems of the green hydrangeas per bridesmaids.. should cost you around $30-$45 per bridesmaids bouquet.
After the Ceremony was over we pulled out the tables, put the linens on.. pulled the ceremony chairs around them, picked up the aisle centerpieces added a few mint julep cups and some green citronella candles and it was a beautiful dramatic centerpiece
As it got evening the ceiling drapery and lighting in that everyday community gazebo turned into a romantic outdoors ballroom!
It was a great way to use the aqua and green and still make it beautiful and dramatic on a budget.
