Damask Print – Black and White Reception
This was actually I believe a 50th birthday party for a pastors wife here Nashville. She loved black and white.. so the whole room was black and white and then we added blue lighting.. it turned out super elegant and we got lots of ooohs and ahhs.. and these centerpieces became a big hit with the brides and with us cause I could put them together in about 60 seconds
The centerpieces were giant clear vases with a chandelier and a black petal fluffy ball at the base were 3 mint julep cups with smaller fluffy balls.. (you can get all these from the wholesale list) With the damask overlay, since its so busy already, its better to put something solid color on top. I love it with hot pink and even with the bright green too! This started becoming a favorite with my brides.. down the aisles and for centerpieces because its simple yet has a lot of bling! And the pricing for these were right at $125 for each centerpieces which was about 1/3 of the other dramatic centerpieces.. so the price was great also.
I used a gobo here that actually we had used at another wedding “long ways” to go down the aisle.. but this was such a dramatic way to decorate the backdrop above the catering table just by turning the gobo “sideways”
And finally this was actually a wooden cake stand I had built that we used it in sooooo many receptions that wanted cupcakes.. I would repaint it everytime to match whatever the them was.. this one was to hard. I just painted glossy black, hot glued the damask ribbon around the edges and hot glued the bling broaches at each corner.. turned out great! and it was really tall so it looks like a cake from a distance.. I loved it
The event was great! I loved the damask print! (Hint: We have a place on our wholesale list that you can buy the damask overlays cheaper than you can rent them. When you wash them make sure to let them soak in vinegar first so the black doesnt run)
