Gateway Island – Murfreesboro TN – Wedding in the rain!
We had custom created the seating tableframe.. and a custom guest signing book.
We had our swirly aisle design with thousands of fresh hot pink petals and giant flower arrangements lining the aisle
had large base arrangements around the bottom of each column, and light blue iridescent ties weaved in the glossy black chiavari chairs accented with a hot pink silk orchid
One of my favorite focal points of this wedding was the ceiling flower arrangement.. I was sooo much bigger than I could capture with the camera, in real life.. so beautiful and so difficult to do.. I was laying on my back on a scaffolding for several hours.. then I was standing and trying to work around wasp nets in the ceiling for several hours.. thankfully it turned out beautifully!
Then the rain….
The day was absolutely perfect we had been watching the weather to have a backup plan if rain was showing.. then we said hey we are covered even if it does rain a bit.. but no rain in the forecast. And we thought the day was going to be another perfect wedding. But even more than the rain.. it was the wind..
5 minutes before the wedding started.. I saw a dark cloud headed our way.. and I said.. surely not.. the bride said lets go ahead and start.. and as the parents were walking down….. a downpour came down.. the bridesmaids went running.. the wind blew over any chairs with people not sitting in them the flower arrangements came crashing.. my team grabbed them quickly and put them on the outside edges of the gazebo.. and thankfully my team grabbed a 10X10 tent that was over the reception tables that were getting soaked and we were all soaking as we brought the bride down the aisle. But we got her there..
With the thunder roaring all around them the wind and the rain coming in with a force… the “for better or worse” instantly meant a lot more.. and you could see the love and the “we are going to make it work “show up.. I normally don’t cry at wedding cause I’ve been to so many.. but watching the love through the difficult circumstance.. tears were pouring down my face.. It was the most romantic wedding I ever experienced.
Jeremy was the photographer that day and captured moments that could never be reproduced
The Reception Area
There was a small area inside.. that the guests crammed in and start finger food eating.. cutting the cake.. and then the rain stopped.
I had hot pink and blue lighting shining up into the ceiling and it looked so great at night.. and lighting was perfect! This day was the most craziest wedding day to date dealing with the weather! But the most purely romantic and enduring love I’ve ever seen also. They inspire couples everywhere!
