Spring 2015 Workshop

Draping Workshop Located in Columbia, TN 38401 – (49 Minutes from the Nashville National Airport- Airport Code BNA)
This is a full 3 day workshop with hands on training and personal one on one training time. We provide all the products we use in draping locations. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing
Every workshop is different from what is covered – If you have something specific you want to learn please request it during checkout in the notes department.
Information on the workshop and what to expect:
Wendy gives a semi-structured class each day that is from 10-7 with a long lunch break. She allows room to teach creativity, to allow to students to be created, teaching how to see a complete setup come together, and each day she helps you create a stunning portfolio with different draping techniques, flower and vases and other things that make your decor go WOW, along with easy ways to do lighting! She is showing you how to create a stunning portfolio setup each day. You end up with 3 portfolio pictures at the end of the workshop. Each day also she will take the Professional Portfolio Pictures of the setups and at the end of the workshop she will give you permission to use these pictures on your social media and websites. We do NOT guarantee that you will learn everything about draping within those 3 days because there are 10 years worth of draping and designs to learn.. so every workshop is different, and every workshop designs are different and therefore we do get lots of new designers that keep coming back to learn more and to add these different setup designs to their portfolio. This is not a lecture on how to sell the products, but I will answer questions during the workshop, but most of the selling and pricing is in our business book kit that you can purchase seperatly whenever you desire. This also saves us time for more decorating time and not just talking time.
The first day you will arrive at 10:00 a.m., we will allow for everyone to share their story and what they would like to learn from the workshop. This lets everyone get to know you and is a good time for the students to bond. Then after the get to know you session. We will complete the first portfolio setup. This may be ceiling draping, or wall draping, ceremony or reception type setup, but it will have a little bit of all techniques and design in it. 7:00 is the end time of the day. If we are not finished by 7:00. Then that is the end of the day and the job is unfinished. So its important to work fast, to learn you have a time limit and to complete the task and setup by that time. Which is something you have to be able to do at an event also.
Before you arrive at 10:00 a.m. our crew will have the previous day setup taken down or we will be in a different location with a different type of ceiling, doing another portfolio setup. It will be listed the address on the website for each workshop. We will start the day out with 1 hour of open floor talk time so any question or comments from the previous day will be discussed. And then the next Portfolio design will be created. Again this day ending at 7:00 P.M.
The last day of the event we will start out the day with 1 hour of open talk time followed by 1 hour of specials that you can purchase at the workshop – Every product that you work with we do sale at very competitive wholesale prices. You will have 14 days after the workshop to still get the special listed but during this time you will get an additional 10% off if order placed during this special time period. And the last day we will create another portfolio design. And finish the workshop at 7:00 that evening.
YES photography is allowed from your own cameras, we even encourage it. I will show you my tricks with lighting and the different ways I take pictures and the different angles that really get some good pictures of your setups. And that is what will sell your designs to your clients. Is awesome pictures. Again, we will be taking professional pictures that you will have access to (High Resolution and Web Resolution delivered by dropbox link along with Maryblossom Weddings who provides a lot of the decor for us to play with. Most of the times we are “playing” with $30,000 – $50,000 worth of products. In return, she also gets to use the portfolio pictures.
What you will receive:
Your pictures that you will take home from this event, I think, are one of the most valuable things you will get!
You will also receive an Event Pro Certification in the mail after the workshop
Your business info on our “Find a Designer” page. This is where the brides or locations calling or emailing looking for a decorator can find a decorator in their state or country. We do have a lot that come over from England, UK, Nigeria, and Australia.. But starting the spring 2015 workshop we will include our workshop graduates for free on the business page.
We will also provide a small private facebook group for your class only, that after the workshop is over you will have the information and links and so forth that I will post easily accessed by everyone in the group! No need to keep track of a notebook unless you want to.
